BURTON SCHOOL BOARD TO DISCUSS BONDS FOR IMPROVEMENTS
The Burton School Board is set to discuss a possible bond issue that would fund improvements to some of the district’s facilities, when they meet Monday night.
At issue are: additional classrooms at the high school, a new gymnasium and a new football field. Officials are still working on the amount of the possible bond proposal.
The board will hear a presentation from the firm of Powell & Leon.
A committee that includes several trustees was formed earlier this year to gather information.
Also among the items on Monday’s agenda will be a discussion of the master facility site plan; a report on a community and student engagement survey; and staff salary increases for 2016-17.
The Burton school board will meet at 6:30 Monday night, in the administration building at 701 N. Railroad St.
