BURTON SCHOOLS MEET STANDARDS

All the campuses in the Burton school district met standards in the Texas Education Agency’s accountability ratings.

The Burton Elementary campus earned “distinction” designations in the area of mathematics and science.

Superintendent, Dr. Edna Kennedy says, “The district is proud of their accountability rating and the staff worked to ensure that all students had the opportunity to master learning objectives.”

A total 446 students were tested, 209 in grades 7-12 on the high school campus and 237 in grades pre-K through six on the elementary school campus.

Dr. Kennedy says she “appreciates the support from the community and their commitment to educational initiatives.

Schools were rated on student achievement, student progress, closing performance gaps and postsecondary readiness.
