BUSY DAY FOR BRENHAM FIRE DEPARTMENT

  

The Brenham Fire Department had a busy day, Thursday.

First, firefighters were called out to the 1400 block of Burleson St. at 7:30 a.m., for a grass fire at the intersection of Burleson and West Blue bell RD.

Someone was burning brush in a pasture, and was advised that he could not burn in the City Limits.  The owner extinguished the fire.

The Brenham Department and Gay Hill Department were dispatched to several small grass fires along State Highway 36 North.

Firemen from Brenham extinguished two small areas of grass by the Oak Hill Subdivision entrance.  Gay Hill extinguished the rest of the fires.

At around 2:00 p.m., fire fighters were dispatched an accident in the 1000 block of Highway 290.  BFD units cleaned up fluids off the roadway.

Finally, just before midnight, the Brenham Department was dispatched for a structure fire at 902 Summit.

Units arrived and found a single story brick structure with light smoke inside the residence.

According to firefighters, the AC motor had locked up causing the smoke.

BFD used a fan to remove the light smoke from the residence.
