CALDWELL MAN INDICTED FOR MURDER

  

A Caldwell man has been indicted for murder by a Brazos County Grand Jury.

51 year old Rod Sterling Clanton is charged with the shooting death of his stepbrother, 54 year old Stephen Craig Bishop of Bogata, in December of last year.  Authorities say Clanton and Bishop confronted each other at Texas 21 and OSR in Brazos County over a dispute involving money on December 26th.  Bishop died at the scene from a single gunshot wound to his head.  Clanton was originally charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, posted a $75,000 bond and was released.  Now he faces a murder charge following the Grand Jury indictment.
