CALDWELL SCHOOLS TO RE-ALIGN

  

The Caldwell School Board has voted to change the grade alignments of three of their campuses.

The Middle School will keep only 7th and 8th graders, Intermediate will be home to 4th - 6th graders and the Elementary will be a PK - third grade campus.

The Middle School campus has five portable buildings that are in failing shape.  The Intermediate and Elementary campus have extra classrooms, so for financial reasons and safety reasons officials say the changes needed to be made.

Next year third graders will be taught at the Elementary Campus, the Intermediate will have 4th - 6th grade. Most of the portables will leave Caldwell Middle School and the campus will teach 7th and 8th only.

Also, Sixth graders will get a different schedule than fifth graders do now and it will allow them to select electives of art or band.

Caldwell parents and students will be given elective information in meetings during May.
