CALDWELL STORM VICTIMS SWAMPED BY OUT-OF-TOWN ROOFERS

Residents of Caldwell have been deluged with solicitors since damaging Sunday's hailstorm.

City administrator Johnny Price says many city residents have suffered damages to houses, homes, buildings, and vehicles, and have been swamped with out-of-town roofers.

Homeowners say as many as five different roofing companies have been knocking on their doors and inundating them with phone calls.

Price told KBTX-TV that police have received numerous complaints, including some who have found solicitors on their roof without permission.

Some residents say they are receiving up to four-to-five calls a day from out-of-town roofers.

Price says the city has issued around thirty new business permits after the companies came in town on Monday. He says they usually only issue ten in a year.

Despite having solicitation permits, Price says homeowners always reserve the right to ask the solicitors to leave. If they do not, Price urges homeowners to call the police.
