CASA TRAINING HAPPENING TODAY

ย ย

A training session to become a court appointed advocate for children in the protection system will take place today (Saturday) in Brenham.

The Court Appointed Special Advocates Academy (CASA) works together with state and local member programs to promote court-appointed volunteer advocacy, so every abused or neglected child in the United States can have a safe permanent home and the opportunity to thrive.

CASA advocates are assigned one child or sibling group at a time, in order to assure that they are able to give the appropriate attention and care to their appointed child or children.

CASA advocates are screened and highly trained. They are then appointed by judges to represent and advocate on the behalf of a child in the child protection system.

The training session is held today from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. There will another training session starting on November 5th. To request an application, call 979-277-0088 or email executivedirector@wespeak4kids.org.
