CASA VOLUNTEERS SWORN IN
Four new volunteers for the Court Appointed Special Advocates program were sworn in last week at the Waller County Courthouse.
The CASA Volunteers speak up for children who are abused and neglected.
The new advocates ranged in age from their early 20s to their 60s.
CASA For Kids of South Central Texas trains, supports, volunteers to represent the best inters of abused and neglected children in the court room and other settings. While their parent Association helps to guide the program, CASA For Kids of South Central Texas serves on the local level, advocating for abused and neglected children with Washington, Austin, Colorado and Waller Counties.
CASA Volunteers need to be at least 21-years of age, pass a background check, then complete a free, in depth training program designed to teach about child abuse and neglect, child advocacy and appropriate services for the children served.
