CAUSE OF FATAL FIRE IN COLLEGE STATION “UNDETERMINED”

Authorities in College Station continue to try to determine the cause of a fire that took the life of a woman back on July 10th.

Officials say extensive damage at the home has prevented fire investigators from finding out the cause of a fire that left 48-year old Janet Davis and her two dogs dead..

According to the College Station Fire Marshal's office, an "extensive investigation" eliminated every possible ignition source in the home in the 1100 block of Eagle Avenue, so the fire's cause is being ruled "undetermined."

It was the first fatal fire in College Station since August 2010.

Davis' body was found in a second floor room. Firefighters had trouble getting to the second floor initially because of damage to the stairs.
