Officials from Blinn College and Vaughn Construction have celebrtated a major milestone in the construction of Blinn’s new academic facility at the RELLIS Campus in Brazos County.

The final steel beam has been placed atop the four-story facility marking completion of the structural phase of the building, which remains on schedule to open in the Fall of 2018.

As part of the ceremony, workers signed the final beam before it was placed atop the building.

Once complete, the building will span 83,000 square feet and include 18 classrooms and eight laboratories. The facility will serve as many as 2,500 Blinn students who are completing their freshman- and sophomore-level courses in preparation for transfer to The Texas A&M University System institutions that will be located at the RELLIS Campus by 2020.
