CHAMBER MUSIC CONCERT, TEXAS FESTIVAL ORCHESTRA SET FOR TOMORROW IN ROUND TOP
Events continue this weekend for the Round Top Music Festival.
Tomorrow (Saturday) offers a cello recital with Emilio Colon at 1:30 p.m. in the Edythe Bates Chapel, followed by the Chamber Music Concert at 3:30 in the Concert Hall. The concert will feature work from Ermanno Ferrari, Antonio Vivaldi, and Samuel Scheidt (Sh-I-te). Tickets are $25 for adults, and $10 for students.
The Texas Festival Orchestra at 7:30 p.m. will conclude the weekend’s events. The orchestra features young artists in residence, who will perform under conductor Yaniv Dinur.
The orchestra will perform alongside violinist Regis Pasquier in Prokofiev’s (pro-KOH-fee-ev) Concerto for Violin and Orchestra No. 3 in g, Op. 63.
The orchestra will also play Benjamin Britten’s Four Sea Interludes, Op. 33a, as well as Tchaikovsky’s (chy-KAWF-skee) Symphony No. 6 in b, Op. 74. Tickets for the Festival Orchestra are $30 for adults, and $10 for students. They can be purchased online at festivalhill.org.
All concerts are held at the Festival Hill Campus at 248 Jaster Road, in Round Top.
