Topics discussed during the seminar will include an overview of the activities of the federal agencies, including the EEOC and DOL, as well as trends in litigation and claims by current and former employees in a variety of areas (Title VII, ADA, FMLA, PDA and more).

The event will also feature presentations by Alexis Knapp and Nehal Anand of Littler Employment & Labor Law Solutions Worldwide. They will present an overview of various employment law issues in 2016.

A major component of the program will be helping prepare employers facing the new FLSA/DOL overtime rule that takes effect December 1, 2016.  The presentation will be educational, but also preventive, with the goal of identifying areas where employers can mitigate risk and be proactive in preventing claims in these various areas.

The Seminar will take place at the Blinn College Student Center Conference Room in Brenham from 8:30-10:30 a.m. The cost is $10 for Chamber Members and $15 for non-members. For more information, call 979-836-3695.
