CHAPPELL HILL SCARECROW FESTIVAL SATURDAY AND SUNDAY

  

Chappell Hill is expecting huge crowds of visitors this weekend for the annual Scarecrow Festival.

For the 41st time, Chappell Hill will host the two day Scarecrow Festival this Saturday and Sunday, October 14th and 15th. More than 400 booths containing art, crafts, food, jewelry, clothing and other merchandise will line the streets of the small community. A special children’s activity corner will feature pony rides, a petting zoo, barrel train, face painting and more.

The Chappell Hill Historical Society, which holds the Scarecrow Festival each year, has almost continuous live musical entertainment scheduled. On Saturday on the Poplar Lot Stage, Ryan Elise performs from 11:00 ‘til 1:30, and Gary Durrenberger from 2:00 ‘til 5:00. On the Bank Stage Saturday, Abigail Taylor sings from 10:30 to 12:45; Cloggers Unlimited perform from 1:00 to 1:30; and Jay Parr from 2:00 ‘til 5:00. On Sunday Jim Mazurkiewicz and Polska Kapela will play on the Poplar Lot Stage from 11:30 ‘til 2:30, and on the Bank Stage the Jeff Jacobs Band plays from 11:00 ‘til 3:30.

The Chappell Hill Scarecrow Festival runs from 9:00 to 6:00 Saturday, and from 10:00 to 5:00 Sunday. Admission is free, and parking is only $5 in the lot on FM 1155, a short distance north of the intersection of U.S. Highway 290 and FM 1155.
