CHAPPELL HILL TO HOST MEMORIAL DAY SERVICE
Chappell Hill will hold its fifth annual Memorial Day celebration on Monday, beginning at 10:30am at the Chappell Hill Community Cemetery at 5455 Sample Lane.
The celebration will feature U.S Air Force Veteran Sgt. Thomas Wilborn as guest speaker.
The celebration is sponsored by the Chappell Hill Cultural Heritage Group.
Wilborn, a Wellborn, Texas native, began his military career at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio in 1970. Wilborn was highly decorated during his service with the Air Force.
His military career included technical training at Chanute Air Force Base in Champaigne, Ill., at the Nellis Air Force Base Tactical Fighter Unit in Las Vegas and at Air Force bases in Thailand and the Phillippines.
