CHAPPELL HILL TRACK HEARING TOMORROW

A hearing on the proposed Chappell Hill Race Track will finally take place Wednesday.

A group of Chappell Hill landowners filed a civil suit back in January seeking a permanent injunction to stop the track from being built, claiming it would devalue their property.

The proposed site is on 450 acres of the Mel Acres Ranch just south of US 290 in Chappell Hill.

The case has been brought by a number of local property owner including: Helen and Chad Phillips, Charles and Danielle Fridge, OCF Cattle Company owned by Matt and Christi Strock, Ron and Lynn Holder, and J.T. Davis, owner of Dingo Ranch.

The hearing had originally been scheduled for April 16th, but was rescheduled for Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. in 21stDistrict Court.

The case will be heard by retired district judge J.D. Langley of Brazos County.
