CHILDREN’S CHORUS TO BEGIN YEAR WITH NEW DIRECTOR

The Brenham Children’s Chorus has a new chorus director.

Jill Stewart takes over the position of director following the retirement of long-time director Pam Young.

Stewart has been a part of the Chorus since its inception 15 years ago.

The Chorus also has a new accompanist: Amy Schramme succeeds Martha Haydon who also retired at the end of last season.

Julie Steen will be directing Singendpiel, which Stewart was doing before taking over the entire chorus.

Among the events the Chorus will be: “Elf Jr.,” a Christmas musical with the Brenham Broadway Kids, Dec. 15 and 16 at the O’Donnell Center.  Valentine concerts Feb. 9 and 10 at First Baptist Church.  March 3, members will sing at the Texas Independence Celebration at Washington-on-the-Brazos.  And, “Disneymania” will be performed April 20 and 21 at the O’Donnell Center, which will include all core ensembles of the chorus.
