TODAY IS CHILDREN’S DAY AT WASHINGTON COUNTY FAIR

  

Today is Children’s Day at the Washington County Fair. President of the Fair, Pam Zwahr, says there's some new things incorporated into Children's Day this year:

At 9 a.m. the Children’s Petting Zoo, Pony Rides, Human Hamster Balls and Kiddie Bumper Boats open.

At 10 a.m. the Antique Farm Machinery in Operation, Commercial Exhibits Building, Country Creations Division, Country Store, and K-9 Disc Connected will all open. Also opening at that time is the Texas Parks and Wildlife Critter Exhibit.

The Champion Drive Livestock Show will take place at 10:30 a.m. The Champion Drive is an event in which special needs students take part in a livestock show during the Fair. This year 31 student participants have been matched with 56 4H and FFA buddies to take part in the show.

The Children’s Day Lunch will be at 11 a.m. in the Event Center.

The Mechanical Bull opens at 4 p.m. At 4:30 the Colt Sale will happen. The Commercial Steer Awards and Sale will take place at 5:30.

Kid’s Pedal Tractor Races begin at 5:45 and the carnival will open at 6 p.m.

The Commercial Heifer Recognition and Awards will take place at 6:30. It will be followed by the Commercial Heifer Sale at 7:00.

The Rodeo will kick off at 7:30 and will feature Wild Steer Saddling.

Live music will begin at 8:00 with a performance by Kaitlin Butts. Aaron Watson will take the stage at 10 p.m.
