CHRISTMAS SHOPPERS ARE URGED TO “BUY LOCAL” THIS WEEEKEND

  

This season, Christmas shoppers are being urged to shop locally this weekend during the annual Small Business Saturday tomorrow.

The Washington County Chamber of Commerce represents the businesses of Brenham, Burton, Chappell Hill, Independence, Washington, Round Top, Bellville, Navasota, LaGrange, Somerville, and others, and is urging shoppers to get out and get to know local businesses.

The purpose of the event is to stress the importance of keeping their hard-earned dollars in their communities, which when they do, helps supports not only the businesses they buy from, but also generates local sales tax, which goes to support the communities’ police and fire departments, parks and recreational facilities.
