CITIZENS URGED TO RECYCLE XMAS TREES

  

Residents throughout the Brazos Valley are being encouraged go green and recycle their Christmas trees.

Twin Oaks Landfill, located just off of Highway 30 in Grimes County, is inviting guests to drop of their Christmas trees for free.

All you have to do is notify the scale-house upon arrival and make sure to remove all lights and decorations.

Twin Oaks Landfill Event Specialist Micaela Farrington-Aguilar says, "It saves landfill space and has many environmental benefits."

Farrington-Aguilar said they recycle brush, stumps, and trees and turn it into mulch.

The promotion ends January 20th, but mulch, compost, and firewood are available at the facility while supplies last.
