CITY APPROVED PURCHASE OF UV SANITATION SYSTEM FOR AQUATICS CENTER

The Brenham City Council approved the purchase of a UV Sanitation System for the Blue Bell Aquatics Center at the Council’s Thursday meeting.

The Brenham Community Development Corporation Board of Directors at their June 5, 2015 meeting granted a FY15 funding request for the Blue Bell Aquatic Center to purchase an Ultraviolet Sanitation System.

City of Brenham Director of Community Services Wende Ragonis and Tammy Jaster, of the Aquatics center says that the new system will be used as the secondary sanitation process along with the primary sanitation process of chlorine to treat and kill waterborne pathogens.

UV sanitation systems can eliminate chlorine-resistant microorganisms which may live in recreational water.

The cost of the UV Sanitation System, which will be using BuyBoard Contract No. 451-14 will cost around $90,715
