CITY COUNCIL AND RED CROSS HONOR A LIFE SAVER

Hannah Hohlt is a true life saver.  She has been trained as a life guard, and has worked for the Blue Bell Aquatic Center for five years but on Christmas night last year, far away from the swimming complex, she saved her father’s life.

Ms. Hohlt described that night at (Thursday’s) Brenham City Council meeting.

Jeff Hohlt said he had always been proud of his daughter but now he knows he would not be alive if it were not for her and her quick thinking.  Holt just graduated from Texas Lutheran University. She has also a certified fitness trainer and is studying to be a registered nurse.

The Heart of Texas Region of the American Red Cross presented Ms. Holt with the Certificate of Merit Award at today’s (Thursday’s) Brenham City Council meeting.

Mark Felton of the Red Cross says this is an award that is only given to people who have saved lives and is authorized by the President of the United States.
