CITY COUNCIL HEARS REPORTS DURING WORK SESSION

Two reports were submitted to the Brenham City Council this (Thursday) afternoon during a work session. Jenny Mills, Tourism Director for the Convention and Visitors Bureau presented their quarterly report.  She said that they continue to see an increase in tourism activity and their primary focus is on larger groups.  She also noted that on line engagement with their website and Facebook page continue to increase.

Brenham Main Street Director Jennifer Eckermann presented the 2018 Work Plan for that organization.  She highlighted the plans of Main Street’s four committees: design, organization, promotion, and economic vitality.  Eckermann said that they were recently approached by a group of vendors to consider opening a Downtown Farmers Market:

 

The Main Street Program’s primary goal is to encourage reinvestment and preservation; entice businesses, customers, visitors and downtown residents to the historic district.

  1. It the “First Friday” going to structured like the First Friday event that is held in Downtown Bryan that has been held for years?
