CITY COUNCIL TO DISCUSS “LANDFILL PROPERTY” LEASE

The lease of the city’s old landfill property will be discussed today at the Brenham City Council meeting.

The council will go into executive session to discuss the possible lease of nearly 110 acres which used to be the city landfill off Allen Road, to Roy Burger, owner of RB Films Productions.

Following their closed door discussions, the council will then reopen the regular session to vote on the matter.

The council is also expected to approve filing for a grant for the Nancy Carol Roberts Memorial Library from the Institute of Museum and Library Services.

The grant would be used to fund technology related challenges and could range from $10,000-to-25,000 – with no matching funds required.  The application is due February 1st.

The council will also discuss filing for a grant to the Brazos Valley Community Impact Grant Program for the library as well.

That grant ranges from $20,000-to-75,000 and also requires no matching funds.

The Brenham City Council meets Today at 1:00 at Brenham City Hall on West Vulcan St.
