CITY COUNCIL TO DISCUSS TAX-PHASE IN FOR VALMONT PROJECT

A tax phase-in agreement with a local business will be discussed Thursday afternoon at the Brenham City Council meeting.

The council will discuss an agreement with Valmont Coatings who are requesting the phase-in as they move forward with plans to locate a galvanizing plant in Brenham to serve the local Valmont Structures facility as well as other metal-based businesses in the region.

Valmont officials say the move would help them invest in equipment and jobs to help offset initial costs of locating the expansion project to Brenham.

Valmont officials also say the project will also provide a substantial economic impact.

Also at Thursday’s meeting:

The council will discuss a ground lease agreement for hangar space at the Brenham Municipal Airport.

And the council will discuss a noise variance request from the Washington County Ministerial Alliance for a Good Friday Community Worship Service, March 25th at Hattie Mae Flowers Park.

The Brenham City Council meets Thursday afternoon at 1:00 at City Hall.

  1. The same Valmont that previously requested a tax phase-in; retracted; then proceeded to lay off numerous hard working Brenham employees…some who had been there 30+ years? This will probably be granted by our naive city council, but many people know the true nature of Valmont.
