CITY FINANCES IN GOOD ORDER TO BEGIN THE YEAR
The finances for the city of Brenham started off strong according to the city’s chief finance officer Carolyn Miller.
Miller reported to the City Council at today’s (Thursday’s) meeting , the city had a favorable performance in all the major funds except for some losses in the gas fund.
Miller outlined all the city’s funds, saying the overall net revenues for the first quarter of the year were $305,165. The electric fund contributed $154,666, the water fund brought in $81,985, the waste water fund had revenues of $123,275 and the sanitation fund brought in $174,545. Miller reported the gas fund lost $562,620, in large part to the very cold winter the city experiences.
