CITY OF BRENHAM TO END BRUSH PICKUP FROM STORMS

The City of Brenham is ending its brush pickup, which became necessary after high winds and rain caused many trees to fall into yards several weeks ago, and causing some of the trees to fall on power lines

Over the last 3 weeks the City of Brenham Street Dept. has been picking up debris around the city and collected yard debris and bulky brush accounting for over 400 tons that generated from the storm on April 27th.

The City extended the pickup until May 11th, and have continued to pick up limbs the remainder of this week on a call in basis and feel that all areas have been serviced fully.

This service is ending and residents will have two options beginning immediately to dispose of their bulky brush/yard debris.

City of Brenham residents may continue to bring the brush/yard debris to the Citizens Collection Station at no cost.  (Residents only, not Commercial Vendors) or they may schedule a brush pickup through the City of Brenham Collection Station which is collected each Wednesday of the week.

With this service there are restrictions that relate to the size of limbs (4’ length, bundled together, no more than 6” in diameter) and a 12 bag limit on leaves.

The Citizens Collection Station is located at 2009 Old Chappell Hill Rd Brenham. You can call them at (979) 337-7455.
