CITY OF BRENHAM TO PERFORM WATER SYSTEM MAINTENANCE

Beginning July 6 and running through July 21, the City of Brenham will perform a routine “chlorine burnout” to the water distribution system.

This treatment is to cleanse the lines and help maintain a good disinfectant residual in the system. During this time the City will change from feeding chloramines and will feed free chlorine.

The city will also be flushing the water mains as part of this procedure. During this process water customers may experience low water pressure and/or possible odor, unusual taste or color issues in the water. According to the City of Brenham, there are no associated health risks and the water will be safe to drink.

If you have any questions regarding this treatment process, please contact the City of Brenham at 979.337.7400, Monday – Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m.
