CITY OF CAMERON HIRES NEW POLICE CHIEF

The City of Cameron is hoping that the “third time is the charm” as they hired their third Police Chief this year.

The Cameron City Council voted unanimously Tuesday to hire attorney  as chief of police.  Gosch has worked as an attorney in Milam, Robertson and Falls counties for the past 14 years.  His law enforcement career began as a police officer in Hearne in 1993, and was a deputy with the Milam County Sheriff’s Department from 1995 to 2006.

Cameron has essentially been without a Police Chief since Chief Randy Dixon was terminated in February.  In May, the City Council hired Silsbee Police Chief Waylan Rhodes for the position, but he only stayed two weeks before returning to Silsbee.  And in September, Harris County Constable Shane Snider held the position for a short time before leaving.

Gosch’s first day on the job is today (Wednesday).
