CO. COMMISSIONERS AUTHORIZE NEW VEHICLE PURCHASE FOR D.A.

  

The Washington County Commissioners granted the District Attorney, Julie Renken, the authority to purchase a new vehicle at this morning’s (Tuesday) meeting. The new vehicle was budgeted into this year’s budget. The DA will purchase a 2016 Chevrolet Tahoe for $34,615 from a local contract vendor.

Commissioners also awarded a sealed bid to Herman International for one new 2015 tandem dump truck for $86,900 to the Road and Bridge Department.

The authorization of the County Engineer to advertise for Seal Coat bids opening at 9am on March 1st and closing for approval the following day on March 22nd as well as .180 miles of road extension of Crestview Lane in the Spring Creek Estates into the County Road System. This acceptance of this road extension releases the Letter of Credit security covering the Maintenance Phase.

Keese and Associates were approved by the court to furnish architectural services to renovate the kitchen area of the Washington County Jail. The kitchen area is currently over 20 years old.

The present contract for participation in the Washington County Rotation Log for Towing services for abandoned, impounded, junked, and disabled vehicles with the present towing companies was extended for another two months. The contract extension passed 3 to 1 with the lone no vote coming from Commissioner Hannath. The city and county are working on a contract that is mutually agreed on.

The meeting ended with presentations monthly reports from the Auditor, , Emergency Management Coordinator, and the Washington County Fairgrounds Management, that were approved for a few concessions, a pig show, a youth rodeo, a dance, and a Jurassic Quest – Dinosaur Show.
