COLLEGE STATION TEEN THREATENS POLICE

(Brazos Co. Jail)

A 19-year-old College Station man is in custody after allegedly threating to kill a College Station police officer.

Authorities say Andrew David Nesbitt attempted to get into a marked patrol vehicle while officers responded to a loud party call at The Retreat apartment complex on Jones Butler Road.

Nesbitt reportedly told police that he wasn't trying to steal the vehicle but that getting into the patrol car would impress his friends.  Police say Nesbitt was placed under arrest for public intoxication.

Once in the back seat of the patrol SUV, authorities say Nesbitt launched into an obscenity-filled tirade that included threatening to get a shotgun and killing the officer.

Nesbitt was charged with retaliation for threatening the officer, a third-degree felony punishable by two to 10 years in prison and a fine of up to $10,000.
