COMMISSIONERS APPROVE A DISASTER DECLARATION TO QUALIFY FOR FEMA FUNDS

A disaster declaration to qualify for FEMA funds for those affected by recent heavy rains in the area was announced by the Washington County Commissioners during their regular Tuesday meeting.

On June 19th, County Judge John Brieden requested extending the Local Disaster Declaration to include Washington County.

Washington County has already been added by the governor to be added to the petition for disaster relief, so the next step was to approach FEMA.

The commissioners also approved a re-plat of .1343 acres of a portion of a subdivision in the Bluebonnet Hills in Precinct 2.

Lot 158 in Section IV of the subdivision will be now known as Lot 37B, and will not require an address change for the 911 system.

The monthly reports were presented from the various County agencies will also be heard, as well as the pending Fairground Management Rental Regulation Contracts.

All reports showed no changes, and no unusual expenditures.

  1. Where do residents with property damages affected by flood waters , contact for assistance? Funds should be appropriated to those who need the help. Isn’t that the objective?

  2. Who are these people that were effected and what damages occurred from the rains? Wheres the money going?
