COMMISSIONERS PROCLAIM OCT 2-7 AS NATIONAL 4-H WEEK

Washington County Commissioners had a relatively short agenda at their meeting this (Monday) morning.  The meeting was moved up a day due to most of the commissioners attending the County Judges and Commissioners Conference on Tuesday.

Commissioners signed a proclamation setting October 2nd through 7th as National 4-H Week in Washington County.  4-H members Laura Zibilski and Taylor Klatte explained to the commissioners what projects they have been active with in 4-H during the past year.

Commissioners voted to consolidate the polling locations for the November 7th Constitutional Amendment Election.  County Clerk Beth Rothermel stated that the county election board met and decided on two polling locations in each on the county commissioners precincts.  Voting for precincts 101 and 109 will be at Frieden’s Church in Washington.  Precincts 104, 117, 121, and 115 will vote at the Washington County Event Center.  Precinct 203 will vote at the Chappell Hill Volunteer Fire Department.  Precincts 202, 205, and 208 will vote at the Brenham VFW Hall.  Precincts 307,316, and 320 will vote at the American Legion Hall in Brenham.  Precincts 311 and 312 will vote at the Sons of Herman Hall in Gay Hill.  Precincts 406, 414, 418, and 419 will vote at the Blinn College Student Center.  Precincts 410 and 413 will vote at the Burton Community Center.

Commissioners also reviewed a number of monthly reports from county departments.  The Washington County Commissioners return to their regular Tuesday meeting time next week.

Washington County 4-H President Taylor Klatte accepts the 4-H Week Proclamation from County Commissioner Joy Fuchs Monday morning.
