COMMISSIONERS TO DISCUSS 2015 TAX RATE FOR WASHINGTON COUNTY

  

Discussion of a proposed 2015 tax rate for Washington County that exceeds  the rollback tax rate or effective tax rate will be discussed and acted upon the Washington County Commissioners when they meet on Tuesday during their regular meeting.

The commissioners will also schedule two public hearings on the tax rate.

Also on the agenda is the discussion and possible action upon granting the County Treasurer the authority to invest county funds in the Bank of Brenham, or pledge securities that are acceptable in accordance with state and federal law and the Washington County Texas Investment Policy.

A discussion and action upon a reappointment to the Brazos Valley Council of Government Board of Directors will also be discussed.

There will also be a presentation by Perdue, Brandon, Fielder, Collings and Mott on the results of their collection of delinquent court fines and fees on behalf of Washington County Justices of the Peace in Precincts one and two.

Also on the agenda is a report on the Texas Extension Association of Family and Consumer Sciences State Conferences that were held in Brenham in July.

The commissioners will also proclaim September 2015 as Childhood Cancer Awareness month, and September 25, 2015 as Childhood Cancer Awareness Day in Washington County

The commissioners will meet at 9am at the Washington County Courthouse.
