COMMISSIONERS TO DISCUSS INDIGENT HEALTH FUNDS

Washington County Commissioners will discuss funds the county receives for Medicaid 1115 waiver uses, when they meet Tuesday morning.

Commissioners are expected to confirm that the funds are a “reimbursable expenditure.”

The funds go to Scott & White-Brenham for use in the County’s Indigent Health and Medical Assistance Programs at the public health clinic on South Chappell Hill Street.

Funds also go to the medical center, which then go back to EMS and its Advanced Community Paramedicine program.

County commissioners are expected to approve three forms, dating back to the beginning of their involvement with the program, due to rule changes by the Texas Department of State Health Services (SHS), which administers the Medicaid 1115 program.

The commissioners are also expected to re-award a bid to Colorado Materials for road materials.

Washington County Judge John Brieden said that the initial bid awarded was incorrect by two cents and that the re-awarding will correct the problem.

The commissioners will meet in the county courthouse at 9 a.m.
