COMMISSIONERS TO DISCUSS YEAR-END FINANCIAL DETAILS DURING NEXT MEETING

  

The Washington County Commissioners will meet on Tuesday and will see a presentation of a Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting awarded to Washington County for its Comprehensive Annual Financial Report for the fiscal year ending December 31, 2015.

The commissioners will also discuss and possibly grant the Washington County EMS the authority to purchase an ambulance remount from a Houston-Galveston Area Council contract vendor when they meet at 9am.

Also on the agenda is the discussion and possible approval for a reappointment of an individual to the Hotel Occupancy Tax Board for a two year term beginning January 1, 2016 and running through December 31st of 2017. The name of the candidate being considered is available at the County Judge’s office.

The commissioners will also be presented a check for a Bluebonnet Community Grant awarded to the Washington County Medical Services by the Bluebonnet Electric Cooperative.

Also up for approval is a Resolution to extend the present contract for participation in the Washington County Rotation Log for towing services for abandoned, impounded, junked and disabled vehicles with the present towing companies.

Year- end financial issues will be dealt with, including granting authorization to the County Treasurer, County Auditor and County Judge to pay all necessary bills to close the 2015 fiscal year for Washington County, as well as grant authorization to those same entities to make budget amendments and budget line item transfers, if necessary, to close out the 2015 fiscal year.

The commissioners meet in the court chamber at the Washington County Courthouse.
