COMMUNITY CORNER TO FEATURE TEXAS INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATION

The Texas Independence Day Celebration will be the topic during Tuesday’s Community Corner segment on KWHI.

Cyndee Smith with Washington-on-the-Brazos will be speaking to Craig Montana about all the details for the 181st birthday celebration.

Texas Independence Day Celebration is an annual two-day celebration, taking place this year March 4th and 5th, held on the expansive 293-acre park grounds.

The birthday celebration features live music, food, traditional crafts, living history presentations, cannon and musket firing lines, historical encampments and commemorative programs so guests can experience life in Texas in 1836.  Reenactors from across the state set up a bona fide 1836 Texas Army camp where visitors can wander freely Saturday and Sunday around the camp to learn how the soldiers and their families lived in 1836.

Tune in to KWHI Tuesdays at 9:05 a.m. to hear about important local events happening in Washington County.
