CORNERSTONE CEREMONY HELD FOR NANCY CAROL ROBERTS LIBRARY

A cornerstone ceremony was held this (Tuesday) morning for the new Nancy Carol Roberts Memorial Library.  Masons from Brenham’s Graham Lodge and from across the state formally leveled the corner stone for the library which will be placed on the north-east corner of the building.  The ceremony also provided the first public view inside of the renovated library.  Furniture and shelving for the building is scheduled to arrive next week, but those attending were able to tour the spacious central area surrounded by numerous smaller rooms.

Many of the library services were relocated to the City Municipal Building in 2014 at the beginning of the 3.2 million dollar renovation.  The city plans on ending most of those services October 17th in order to move the books back into the new facility.  Computer services will remain available at the Municipal Building however.  The new library is expected to open to the public with a ceremony on November 14.
