COUNTY ACCEPTS BIDS ON SALVAGE WOOD REMOVAL

Several bidders offered $4800 to take surplus wood off Washington County hands at today’s (Tuesday’s) meeting of the Washington County Commissioners.

The County recently torn down the bridges at Shirttail Road in Precinct two and Quebe Road in Precinct Three.  That put some of the salvaged wood on two lots in the county yard.  There was also a salvaged culvert in this recent action.

Washington County Engineer Don Werth told the County Commissioners that Heath Winkelman had the best offer for the bridges, Bradley Fritz had the best bid for the two lots of wood in the salvage yard.

Werth said these offers, along with a $3000 bid from Frank Alattar for the salvaged culverts, amounted to $4800 to remove these materials.
