COUNTY APPROVES NEW PUBLIC SAFETY SOFTWARE

Washington County Commissioners awarded a proposal for new Public Safety Software for the 911 dispatch center.  The new software will interact with software used with other agencies, such as EMS, the Sheriff’s Office and County Jail, Brenham Police Department and the District Attorney’s Office.  By switching to the new software, agencies will avoid manually entering the same data into non-compatible software.  Commissioner Kirk Harnath explains:

Part of the cost of the new software will be shared by the City of Brenham and the other agencies that utilize it.  Interlocal agreements for the percentage of the cost will be worked out at a later date.  The switchover to the new software is expected to take place in 9 months.
