COUNTY COMMISSIONERS ASKING FOR ROAD REPAIR REIMBURSEMENTS

Washington County Judge John Brieden said at today’s (Tuesday’s) meeting of the County Commissioners that they will use both the Blue Book and the prices from the Federal Emergency Management Agency in asking for reimbursements from the Texas Department of Transportation for using the county’s workforce and materials to repair roads damaged by the oil and gas drilling in the county.

The County is in line to receive as much as $341,000 from the TxDot Transportation Infrastructure Fund to make these repairs, but Judge Brieden says the county still needs to provide the workers and materials.

The County Commissioners established a County Energy Transportation Zone earlier this year in order to receive the grant. The amount available increased from $283,000 to $341,000 after several counties decided not to take the funding.
