COUNTY COMMISSIONERS CONSIDER GRANT APPLICATION

The Washington County Commissioners Court will act upon the approval to file a grant application for funding to conduct a local dumpster cleanup event as well as a second grant application to fund a local tire cleanup event.

The Washington County Environmental Health Department is requesting to file the two grant application with the Brazos Valley Council of Governments Regional Solid Waste Management Grants Program.

Washington County Judge, John Brieden says this is not something that the city does every year but that it is a service needed for the community.

The Commissioners will also act upon the appointment of a member to the Brazos Valley Council of Governments Regional Transportation Planning Committee and the reappointment of a member to the Mental Health Mental Retardation Authority of Brazos Valley Board of Trustees.

Other topics on the Commissioners’ agenda are the authorization for the County Engineer to advertise for sealed bids for one new Tandem Dump Truck and the approval of pending Fairgrounds Management’s rental and regulations contracts.

The Washington County Commissioners Court will meet this morning (Tuesday) at 9am at the Washington County Courthouse.
