COUNTY COMMISSIONERS MEET TO DISCUSS AGENDA

  

The Washington County Commissioners met this morning at the courthouse to discuss a variety of issues on their agenda. 

One of the items to discuss and approve a Formal Notice for a Buried Utility Water line on McCronklin Road in Precinct 3 for PGMS Bluebonnet Rural Water Company. The item was approved.

Also approved was Amendment No. 1 to the Tree Removal and Disposal Contract Extension between Washington County and Victor’s Tree Service. The council approved a six month extension instead of the usual 60 days, and remarked about the good job the tree service was providing.

Another item was the approval of the disbursement of funds to the Brenham Independent School District and the Burton School District according to the 2014-2014 School Lands Report. The Brenham Independent School District received $217,752.69 and the Burton Independent School District received $16,213.88.Disbursement is based on daily attendance rates in both school districts.

Also, the commissioners approved canceling next week’s commissioner’s meeting due to Veteran’s Day, and approved granting the County Treasurer the authority to pay necessary bills during the week of November 10-14, 2014 to avoid incurring late payment penalties if the November 11th meeting were to be canceled.

Also approved was the pending Fairgrounds Management Rental and Regulations Contracts presented by the Fairgrounds Manager,

The final item to be approved were accounts payable. A slight increase was noted due to an increase of juror payments due to some jurors being called back for a second day.

The Washington County Commissioners meet on Tuesday mornings at 9am in the Washington County Courthouse.
