COUNTY COMMISSIONERS PREPARE THE WAY FOR ROAD REPAIR GRANT
More than $426,000 in county repairs could get underway soon if the Texas Department of Transportation approves a grant application from the Washington County Commissioners.
The County Commissioners approved numerous agreements to get this 80/20 percent grant approved at today’s (Tuesday’s) meeting.
These are repairs for county roads damaged due to oil and gas drilling in the county. The TxDot grant would give the county $341,000 and the county would supply the rest.
Mona Ryan of the Austin-based ‘Grantworks’ Corporation will help the county write the grant application. She says there are some challenges because this is a new program and some of the rules are still changing. Among those changes are the stockpiles of road materials the county can use.
The Commissioners also granted County Judge John Brieden the authority to sign documents for this grant application. The County Commissioners also approved an updated list of procurements of construction services.
