COUNTY COMMISSIONERS REAPPOINT BOARD MEMBERS

  

Washington County Commissioner voted to reappoint two members of the Brazos Valley Council of Governments Board of Directors.  Dorthy Morgan and Dr. Robert Wright both indicated they wished to continue serving and were reappointed to the board.

Commissioners also awarded the only bid received for an oil and gas lease for 1.3 acres of land owned by the county in Burton.  Geo-Southern bid $500 per acre and a 22.5 percent royalty for the oil and gas lease.  The total pool for the lease is around 600 acres, so the county’s portion is quite small.

In other action, commissioners approved the bonds for two Reserve Deputies with the Sheriff’s Office.  They also approved a number of budget amendments and line item transfers to this year’s budget.   The commissioner’s meeting was moved up a day due to the July 4th holiday.
