COUNTY COMMISSIONERS TO SELECT ARCHITECT TUESDAY

Washington County Commissioners are expected to select an Architect next Tuesday for the new Road and Bridge facility.  Commissioners opened the qualification submissions from four architectural firms at their January 23rd meeting and appointed a committee to review the submissions and make a recommendation.  The county plans on building a new Road and Bridge facility on 21 acres of land they purchased last year on Highway 36 North.

Also on the agenda for Tuesday’s meeting, commissioners are expected to renew a maintenance grant contract for the Statewide Victim Notification Service operated by the Texas Attorney General’s Office.  They will also consider a request for a water line road crossing on Seward Plantation Lane.

Commissioners will also be making an award presentation Tuesday.  The County is being honored for Excellence in Financial Reporting for its Comprehensive Annual Financial Report.

The County Commissioners Court meets next Tuesday at 9:00 AM at the Washington County Courthouse.

  1. Build a court so the overworked sheriff staff will not have to transport folks to the courthouse. Hope whatever architect plans for a floatable building. We can always buy more material (unlimited supply of taxpayer money) when the inevitable flood comes.
