COURTLAND SUTTON SELECTED BY DENVER

Courtland Sutton is now a Denver Bronco.

The Broncos made Sutton their second round draft pick—the 40th pick overall—Friday night at the NFL Draft in Dallas.

Sutton, who caught 68 passes for 1,085 yards last season at SMU, is a 2014 graduate of Brenham High School.

For his career at SMU, Sutton (6’3”, 220 lb) caught 189 passes for 3,052 yards and 31 touchdowns.

At Brenham, Sutton was an All-District selection as a tight end and as a safety.

Sutton is expected to immediately fight for the #3 receiver slot behind Pro-Bowlers Dmaaryius Thomas and Bellville-native Emmanuel Sanders.

Sutton’s former Brenham Cubs teammate Austin Schlottmann (C, TCU) could be a draft pick in the final day of the draft, Saturday.
