CUB BAND WELCOMES NEW POLICE CHIEF GOODMAN

A portion of the Brenham High School marching band welcomed Police Chief Craig Goodman to his first day on the job at the police station this (Monday) morning with the Cub fight song.  Chief Goodman is a trombone player and has a twin brother who was a band director and is now the Fine Arts Director with Austin ISD.  This will be a very busy week for the band with Homecoming activities.  Band Director Eric Rettig explains:

The band is starting a capital campaign to raise funds to pave the Cub Band practice field at the High School.  They hope to raise 405 thousand dollars to pave their current practice field next to the band hall.  The paved field will allow the band to practice after rains and can also be utilized as a parking lot for special events.  The band will hold a kick-off concert for the fundraising this Sunday at 2pm at the High School Gym.
