CUBETTES FACE “PLAYOFF” GAME TUESDAY NIGHT

The Brenham Cubettes face their third-straight must-win game Tuesday night in the regular season finale at Magnolia West.

Last Tuesday, the Cubettes celebrated Dig Pink night with a 3-to-1 win over Tomball Memorial to keep them alive in the hunt for a playoff spot in the incredibly-competitive District 19/5A.

Then on Friday, the Cubettes (26-16/8-5) travelled to Tomball and swept the first-place Lady Cougars, 3-to-0.

Now, Brenham can clinch at least a district playoff game with a win Tuesday at Magnolia West.

Earlier this season, the Cubettes defeated the Lady Mustangs (24-12/9-4) in five grueling sets, 3-2 (27-25, 19-25, 25-22, 20-25, 15-9).

Also on the schedule for Tuesday, Tomball is at Stratford and Magnolia is at Waller.

There is a possibility there could be a four-way tie at 9-5 if the Cubettes, Stratford and Magnolia all win.

And there is a possibility of a three-way tie for two spots if the Cubettes, Stratford and Magnolia all lose.

Any ties for playoff spots would be played off this weekend.  A two-way tie would be broken Friday night, while a three- or four-way tie would be a mini-tournament Saturday at a site to be determined.
