CUBETTES OUT-SLUG TOMBALL, 14-9
The Brenham Cubettes rallied for 14 runs in their final three at bats, to defeat Tomball, 14-9 at Alumni Field, Tuesday night.
Karleigh Flisowski led the offensive charge as she launched a grand slam, a two-run triple and a sacrifice fly to drive in a total of seven runs.
Kramer Eschete just missed out on hitting for the cycle, with a double, triple and inside-the-park home run. Eschete scored twice and drove in three runs.
Caroline Schroeder and Savannah Bartay each had two hits, and scored three times each.
The Cubettes trailed 6-1, going into the bottom of the fourth, when they erupted for five runs to tie the game at 6-6.
The Cubettes then put six runs on the board in the fifth, and added three more in the sixth.
Meanwhile, Flisowski—who got the start at pitcher due to a death in the family of starter Amanda Little—was able to battle and pick up the win.
The win was also the 100th career win for Cubettes’ first-year head coach Katie Roberts, who won 86 games at Santa Fe, before taking the Brenham post.
The Cubettes are now 14-12 on the season, 5-6 in district play.
Brenham will travel to Willis, Friday night to face the Lady Katsf (19-7/10-1) at 7:00.
