CUBETTES PICK UP FIRST 18/4A WIN IN RUN-RULE VICTORY

A 15-hit attack propelled the Brenham Cubettes to a 12-2 District 18/4A win Saturday afternoon at Willis.

The Cubettes broke open a close game with a 6-run third inning.

With a 3-2 lead, Brenham busted open the game with 2-run triple by Ashely Hodde, followed by a 2-run home run by Brette Kohring.

The Cubettes had jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first, after a two-run double by Macie Becker and a run-scoring error by the Lady Kats.

Becker was also the winning pitcher, giving up just one earned run on three hits over six innings.

Jordan Wellmann had three hits and scored three times, while Kellie Jurden also had three hits and scored twice.  Becker would finish with four runs batted in on the afternoon.

The Cubettes will be back in action Monday afternoon when they host Rudder at 2:00 at Alumni Field at Brenham High School.
